Do you have ideas, want to make a difference, and develop innovative solutions? Then join the hackathon! Over the course of 48 hours, you can work with other creative minds to test concepts, technologies, and methods aimed at developing sustainable innovations. Whether it’s technical expertise, business acumen, or social creativity—the team behind “Green Future of the Border Region” (LEADPartner KARR, TGZ Bautzen, HSZG Zittau/Görlitz) is looking forward to YOUR CONTRIBUTION!

What is a hackathon?

A hackathon is an event where creative and innovative solutions to specific challenges are developed in a short period of time. Working in interdisciplinary teams, you’ll tackle real-world case studies provided by companies, research organizations, and institutions in the region. The result will be prototypes or concepts that can create real added value for the region.

Themen & Herausforderungen

Who can take part?

Everyone! Students from various disciplines are particularly welcome: Engineering, natural sciences, business, social sciences, tourism, culture - and of course computer science! You don't need any previous knowledge of programming - bring your strengths to the table and work on new ideas as part of a team.

How do you work?

In small teams, you will use various methods such as design thinking, rapid prototyping and creative problem-solving approaches. You will have access to high-tech tools such as 3D printers, laser cutters and experimental labs. You will be supported by experienced experts who will help you to develop your ideas further.

The goal: Your solution becomes reality

The best teams will have the chance to present their prototypes or concepts at the Energy Forum in Bautzen. At least one of the solutions developed will be continued with partners from the region - so your contribution can make a long-term difference!

More than just coding: The Hackathon Experience

In addition to the intensive teamwork, you can expect an inspiring atmosphere: exciting challenges, new contacts, delicious food and relaxed places to chat during breaks. Not only can you gain valuable experience for your CV, you can also make friends and network for the future.

The "Green Future of the Border Region" project is co-financed by the European Union from the European Regional Development Fund as part of the INTERREG Poland-Saxony 2021-2027 cooperation program.
