We invite developers and others interested in co-creating concepts that address transformational changes to test concepts, technologies, or methods over the course of 48 hours. The goal is to develop innovations, creative solutions, and even new products. The result of each group’s “hackathon teamwork” on a specific track (= one of several case studies provided by regional companies) will be, for example, a prototype or a prototypical solution/concept.
The case studies will be provided by companies from Poland (Lower Silesia) and Lusatia, research institutions, and other organizations, as well as local authorities.
Thematically, we will focus on sustainable solutions (in the tri-border region) that promote energy efficiency and resource conservation. Social and cultural aspects, as well as ecological and economic ones, will be taken into account. The event will be conducted in English (German and Polish may also be used during small-group work). We are currently initiating a collaboration with the Technical University of Liberec.
We especially invite students from a variety of fields (engineering, social sciences, economics, natural sciences, tourism) in our region to collaborate and develop joint solutions—with a perspective that transcends borders!
The hackathon format is enjoyable (the atmosphere), adds valuable experience to your resume, fosters a spirit of teamwork, offers an interesting way to explore other academic disciplines, and promotes networked thinking—and, last but not least, showcases young talent to companies in the region. These are the specialists of the near future.
The top teams will have the opportunity to present their prototypes/concepts at the Energy Forum in Bautzen (TGZ) at the end of June. At least one of the results will be further developed for the region in collaboration with relevant institutions, business partners, and research partners.
