Solar cargo bike

An international team electrifies the cargo bike

One of the case studies centered on an ambitious question: Is it possible to make a cargo bike completely self-sufficient in solar power in just two days? An international team of three took on the challenge—with plenty of technical curiosity, creative energy, and the courage to experiment.

The approach was dynamic, iterative, and deliberately open-ended. A wide variety of technical approaches were tested, discarded, and refined—supported by the use of AI tools and a knack for improvisational craftsmanship. They tinkered, programmed, tested—and started all over again.

The result: After two intensive days, the cargo bike was up and running—powered solely by solar energy. Even though energy efficiency can still be optimized, the key takeaway remains: “The sun is shining for everyone—for free.”

An impressive example of what can be achieved when international collaboration meets sustainable thinking and creative technical innovation.
