Programmers and other co-creators of change are invited to test concepts, technologies or methods in a continuous period of time (48 hours..) in order to develop innovations, creative solutions or even new products. The result of the "hackathon team work" of each group of a given track (= one of several case studies, provided by regional companies) represents, for example, a prototype or a proto-typical solution/concept.
Companies from Poland (Lower Silesia) and Lusatia, research institutes and other institutions as well as municipalities provide case studies.
Thematically, we focus on sustainable solutions (in the three-country region) that promote energy efficiency and resource conservation. Social and cultural as well as ecological and economic aspects will be taken into account.
The course language will be English (German and Polish possible in small groups), and a cooperation with the TU Liberec is currently being initiated.
Students from a wide range of disciplines (engineering, social sciences, economics, natural sciences, tourism) from our region - with a view across borders! - (within the framework of this format) are particularly invited to work together and develop solutions together.
The hackathon format is fun (atmosphere), gives experience for the CV, allows the team spirit to blossom, provides exciting insights into other disciplines and promotes networked thinking and, last but not least, presents young talent to companies in the region. Specialists of the near future.
The best-placed teams will be given the opportunity to present their prototypes/concepts at the Energy Forum in Bauten (TGZ) at the end of June. At least one of the results will be further developed for the region and with the relevant institutions, business and research partners.
