The case study of PAL and Arnio GmbH particularly impressed hackathon participant Maciej Gmur - not only in terms of content, but also with regard to cross-border cooperation between Germany, Poland and the Czech Republic. Maciej had already shown great interest in the thematic focus of the hackathon in the run-up to the event. In his words: "Originally, I was attracted by the general purpose of the hackathon - cooperation between three neighboring countries. I thought it would be great to do something for our region, especially because the projects and the event placed great emphasis on ecological aspects. After that, I fell in love with the atmosphere: modern university, beautiful city and unique people who were on the same wavelength."
Maciej impressed with his initiative, creativity and vision. Beyond the requirements of the case study, he developed new approaches for improved user guidance and the modular integration of specialist content - in close coordination with the supervising partners SCO-TTi and Arnio GmbH. His focus was not only on the technical implementation, but also on the practical added value of such a system for universities and regional companies. Within 48 hours, a functional demonstration concept was created that combined key criteria such as energy efficiency, multilingualism and user centricity.
Even if not every detail could be fully worked out technically, the focus was on the innovative solution approach - which was ultimately recognized with a special prize from the jury. It was Maciej's first hackathon - but certainly not his last.
