Graduates

III. large graduate reunion of the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering on 05.06.2019

On the occasion of the "50th anniversary of the Zittau University of Engineering", a large campus party took place on 05 .06.2019 at the university location in Zittau.

The Faculty of Mechanical Engineering combined this day with the III Great Alumni Reunion.

And it was a success! After around 215 binding registrations, we met with at least 230 alumni, former and current employees in the auditorium of the Berufliches Schulzentrum Zittau (BFZ).

We also invited alumni of the first hour, i.e. the MKD 1969 matriculation class, and had prepared a surprise for these special graduates: the "Golden Matriculation Certificate". Our "Goldies" proudly accepted it.

After a brief introduction of the faculty by the Dean, Prof. Bellair, we ate, drank and celebrated. There was a lot of smiling about old photos projected onto a large screen, but younger students were also able to look at pictures from their everyday student life, internships and excursions.
In a photo corner, there were also new souvenir photos for future reunions, which all those present would very much like to experience.

The evening showed only happy and joyful faces. This was the best thank you for the organizing team and the helpers.

Dies Academicus 05.06.2019

"From student to professional - graduates and doctoral candidates talk about their careers"

This was the motto under which we, the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering at Zittau/Görlitz University of Applied Sciences, organized this year's Dies Academicus on 5 June 2019 on the Zittau campus.

Students, employees and professors of the university were invited and attended in large numbers. Our alumni, who had arranged to meet in the evening for the III Great Alumni Reunion, also took part, so there were hardly any empty seats in the lecture hall.

The speakers, most of them graduates of the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering, reported on their professional careers. They gave many valuable tips to the future graduates on how to successfully gain a foothold both regionally and internationally with a degree from Zittau. Equally interesting were the reports from our former and current doctoral students, as they showed how broadly diversified the research at our university is.

There were also one or two tips for lecturers, for example on course content and the software used.

The very interesting and lively presentations made the time fly by. There was a desire to repeat this format in the coming years.
