KIA additional qualification "AUKOM"

Our KIA 20 proudly hold their certificates in their hands after passing the exam.

Due to the measures to contain the corona pandemic, no AUKOM courses could be offered and held from the summer semester 2020.

In order to still offer our students the opportunity to acquire this internationally recognized additional qualification, the "Production Engineering, Production Metrology and QM" department is offering three AUKOM courses (level 1) in the summer semester 2021. The courses currently offered are attended by students of matriculation: K-Mx20, K-Mx19 and K-Mx18.

These courses will be hybrid during the semester and from week 30 onwards will again be held entirely in presence in the Production Metrology laboratory. Thanks to organizer and course instructor Wolfgang Meinck! The courses are free of charge for KIAs from our member companies.

Further AUKOM courses are planned for WS 21/22.

(Of course, the applicable hygiene requirements were observed for the course and photo).

Practice-oriented teaching through the use of HSI software for high transparency in the creation of work and assembly plans

Software that clearly visualizes complex technological processes fits perfectly into the teaching concept of the Production Engineering department. Even better, this CAP software HSi is increasingly being used in mechanical engineering companies.

Its features include intuitive operation, comprehensibility and sufficient functionality, including cost calculation and analysis of planning variants. The software is also a very important building block of digitalization under the current conditions of online teaching in the context of internships and project work.

"The use of HSi software solutions in courses, exercises and assignments in production engineering is very popular with students. All those involved in the teaching staff under the direction of Prof. Dr.-Ing. Gerlinde Kretschmar see this as a very efficient contribution to the practical training of future engineers. As before, the software has proven to be very flexible and stable with its high functionality and usability."
Ralph Heidrich, Laboratory Engineer for Production Engineering at the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering
