A wide range with a vision for the future!

The HSZG presented itself on May 13 and 14 at the Konvent'a in Löbau and at the European City Festival in Görlitz/Zgorzelec.

On the weekend of May 13 and 14, the Zittau/Görlitz University of Applied Sciences was represented at two events. On both days, the HSZG presented its wide range of offers at the KONVENT'A in Löbau. The motto of this year's business and leisure fair was: Free sport! The university also wanted to comply with this request and invited a young and young-at-heart audience to take part in sporting activities such as mini golf and mini table tennis, which were enthusiastically received. The Co-Bot from the Institute of Process Engineering, Process Automation and Metrology (IPM ) demonstrated a somewhat different kind of upper arm training at the HSZG stand. The cooperating robotic arm uncorked and served one refreshing lemonade after another at what felt like minute intervals, making numerous children's eyes light up.

In addition to the university sports program, the focus was of course on the entire spectrum of the university as a first-class educational institution. Many prospective students were provided with information material and valuable tips. Many promised to come back to Löbau on June 10, when the HSZG will be represented at the INSIDERTREFF 2023 in the Blumenhalle at the exhibition grounds.

A few kilometers away on Saturday, 13 May, students, professors and staff from the Faculty of Management and Cultural Sciences took part in the "25 Years European City" celebrations in Görlitz and Zgorzelec and were represented with several stands. Students presented various projects and informed visitors about the university's wide range of offers. The event provided a great opportunity to present the HSZG's commitment to the region in a sustainable way.

At Dr. Ewa Wieszczeczynska's stand, Polish visitors in particular were given an insight into the multilingual courses offered by the university. They were very interested in the opportunity to find out about the study options at first hand.

At the second stand, students presented their "Campus Visions" project, which will take place on June 28, 2023 in a major cultural event at the Kühlhaus in Görlitz. This project is being implemented as part of the "Event Management" module and clearly demonstrates the practical training at the HSZG. The students also took the opportunity to ask the visitors about their wishes and suggestions for the campus of the future and cordially invite them to the event in the Kühlhaus Görlitz in June.

The third stand was dedicated to the "Campus Open Air" (COA), a festival organized and managed by students themselves that will take place on campus. The COA promises numerous workshops, concerts and experiences and will take place at the beginning of June. The students drew the guests' attention to this exciting event and cordially invited them to attend.

Another stand that showcased the university's wide-ranging commitment was that of the Saxon Film Academy. The person responsible for the Film Academy, Mr. Bernd Hölsken, and his staff provided information about the exciting training and further education opportunities for film professions in Görlitz. For example about the new course "Assistance Film Production" which will start in Görlitz on August 21, 2023 with renowned lecturers from the film industry. Steps for the further development of the Saxon Film Academy were also discussed with the director of MDR, Prof. Dr. Karola Wille, and the rector of the university during the European City celebration.

The stands of the HSZG students and the Film Academy were very well attended throughout the day and succeeded in drawing the attention of visitors to the 25th anniversary celebration to the diverse activities of the university. The event provided a valuable platform to present the commitment and innovative education at the HSZG and to make contacts.

Overall, the participation of HSZG students in the "25 Years of Europe" celebration was a great success. The students were able to present the broad spectrum of projects and activities of the university to an interested audience and at the same time gain important insights and suggestions for the future development of the campus. The HSZG thus sent out a clear signal of its presence and its contribution to culture and education in the region.
