Christoph Matthias Duscha takes up the position of Chancellor at the HSZG on 01.07.2023.
Now it's official: On 22 June 2023, Christoph Matthias Duscha received his certificate of appointment from State Secretary Dr. Andreas Handschuh at the SMWK in Dresden. The government director will now take up the post of Chancellor at the Zittau/Görlitz University of Applied Sciences on July 1, 2023. He succeeds Dipl.-Jur. Karin Hollstein, who has left the university at the end of her second term of office on June 30, 2023.
With an impressive professional background and extensive experience in various areas, Christoph Matthias Duscha has qualified for the position of Chancellor. Since December 2007, he has worked as Head of Human Resources and Legal Affairs at Zittau/Görlitz University of Applied Sciences. In this role, he was responsible for many years not only for general personnel and legal matters, but also for the professional qualifications of employees as well as for personnel development and recruitment at the university.
Before working at the Zittau/Görlitz University of Applied Sciences, he was a consultant at the Saxon State Ministry of Economics and Labor between 2005 and 2007, where he was responsible for business start-ups, SME financing, banks and stock exchanges, in particular for the supervision of the European Energy Exchange in Leipzig. There he was able to gain extensive experience in the field of national and European energy and capital market law.
Christoph Matthias Duscha studied law at the Martin Luther University in Halle-Wittenberg from 1996 to 2002. During this time, he deepened his legal knowledge, particularly in European law, at the University of Paris-X Nanterre, where he obtained a Licencié en droit degree in June 1999. From 2003 to 2005, he completed his legal clerkship at the Higher Regional Court of Celle with stations in Hanover, Lübeck and Dresden.
Mr. Duscha lives in Görlitz with his wife and four children.
