Our profile

Profile of the Master's degree program in Energy and Environmental Engineering

The energy and environmental engineering course at the Zittau/Görlitz University of Applied Sciences is characterized by a high degree of interdisciplinarity. The basics of mechanical engineering, electrical engineering and physics are part of the teaching and learning content of our faculty, alongside business law issues and English for engineers. During the three-semester course, we attach great importance to our students gaining realistic work experience in our laboratories and partner companies.

Technical progress in harmony with the environment and society

We believe that energy specialists should not only meet technical challenges with technical excellence, but must also be aware of their responsibility towards society and the environment. Technically sound solutions must always take into account the needs of people, animals and nature. This awareness is part of our curriculum at the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering and an important principle for the education of our successful graduates. This is evidenced by a placement rate of 100 percent after graduation, of which we can be justifiably proud.

The first steps towards a successful career start during your studies

In our practical projects, we work closely with regional and international companies. This creates contacts between students and future employers at an early stage. A special opportunity to start your career is offered by the practical preparation of your Master's thesis in a company of your choice. We are of course always on hand to help you find a suitable practice partner.

In addition, studying in the border triangle enables international experience as well as contact with international students.
